How do Oral Contraceptives work?
Pill contains hormones to inhibit FSH to eggs do not mature (hormonal method)
State the pros and cons of Oral contraceptives
Pros - easy to self-administer, short term effects, easily reversible, reliable
Cons - mild side-effects, can be missed and lead to conception, does not prevent STIs
How to Injection, Implant or Skin Patch Contraceptives work?
Contains Progesterone to be slowly released and inhibit the release of another egg (hormonal)
State the pros and cons of Injection, Implant or Skin Patch Contraceptives
Pros - routine administration by a GP, little to no aftercare or maintenance, reliable
Cons - can take time to be reverse, does not prevent STIs
How do Condoms and Diaphragm Contraceptives work?
Creates a physical barrier that prevent sperm from reaching and fertilising the egg (non-hormonal)

Pros - easy to use, short term effects, very reliable, provides protection from STIs
Cons - can fail
How do Intrauterine Devices work?
Attached to the uterus and release hormones of prevent implantation of embryo (hormonal)

Pros - requires little to no aftercare or maintenance, very reliable
Cons - may take some time for effects to be reversed, does not prevent STIs
How do Spermicidal Agents work?
Contains chemical to kill or immobilize sperm cells (non-hormonal)
