egalitarian
encouraes receivers to feedback their ideas thereby coming to some mutual understanding

characterized by references to rules and regulations and is used to establish schedules
dynamic communication
associated with energy and enthusiasm
relinquishing communication
allows the receiver to take control of the decision making process
withdrawing communication
little effort is made by the participants and can either lead to a poor or enriching relationship
small group context
occurs in groups of 2-12
can be via texting, video, or audio
organizational context
takes place in an organized environment (ex. school, supermarket etc)
downward communication refers to directives coming from management
upward communication refers to information that is passed up the management chain
horizontal communication is the informal passage of information in an office or organization
academic context
aural, oral and written communication
includes attentive listening, effectual group work, lecture notes, comprehensive oral reporting etc
not emotive but expository
sed by students and teachers
intercultural context
interaction between persons of different cultural communities
