A
Belief asserting that a monarch derived their authority from God and thus any attempt to dispose or murder the king is an attempt on God himself-biggest sin of mankind-. I.e In Shakespeares time, the divine right of kings was an accepted aspect of the monarchy, so it is no surprise that the belief us reflected in much of Shakespeare writing. It could be argued that because James I was the patron os Shakespeare’s company, Shakespeare portrayal to Duncan’s murder as an act against God was intended to please his king and patron
