Williams ; exhausted convention- ‘unconventional techniques’ doesn’t glorify ‘escaping reality’ but ‘allows you to reach a closer attempt of things as they are’

scene 10- empathy shifts towards Blanche but also villainified with Mitch- Williams neither way is good

- takes classic gothic archetypal stereotypes eg damsels in distress portrays in a modern realistic manner
