Define extended family?
Family that extends beyond the nuclear family to include aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins or other relatives (3 or more generations in one household)
Define nuclear family?
Family unit consisting of an adult male and female and dependent children
Define arranged marriage?
Type of marital union where the bride and groom are primarily chosen by individuals other than the couple themselves, particularly by family members such as the parents
Define symmetrical family (Young and Willmott, 1970)?
Roles and responsibilities both outside and inside the home are shared equally
Define cohabiting couple family?
Two unmarried people live together and share an intimate relationship

Homosexual couple living together
