Advantages:

  • Packaging is good for consumer as can keep food fresher for longer preventing food waste
  • is bright and colourful encouraging customers to buy it increasing variety in diet
  • packaging contains data which lets them know when it goes off preventing food poising

Disadvantages:

  • Some don’t clean packaging and so can’t be recycled bad for environment as ends up in landfill
  • animals may get stuck/injured/eat packaging and become harmed
  • packing made using fossil fuels which is contributing to global warming
