Containment Flashcards
What are the functions of Containment?
- Limits the release of fission products
- Provides biological shielding.
- Provides source of water for recirc
What is the purpose of the Divider Barrier seal?
- prevents flow of steam and air from bypassing the ice condenser
What actuates a Cntmt Vent Isolation [CVI]?
- High Radiation
- SI (1# in Lower Ctmnt)
- Manual Phase A switch
- Manual phase B switch
- Manual
What Hydrogen concentration do the Hydrogen Recombiners maintain?
< 4%
What are the Cntmt Temp bands? [T.S. 3.6.5]
- Upper 60°F-100°F
- Lower 60°F-120°F
Basis: - HI Temp Limit - equipment concerns
- Low Temp Limit - more mass still remain < 12#
Can you enter Ctmnt doors to do repairs if you are in the TS for doors being inop?
- Yes
If Divider Barrier Seal Integrity is lost how long do you have to get it back? (TS 3.6.13 A)
- One or more personnel access doors or equipment hatches open or inoperable
WITHIN 1 HR: - restore to OPERABLE and closed
If the Cntmt Recirc Drains are INOP how long do you have to restore them? (TS 3.6.14)
- Within 1 Hr
What causes a Cntmt Phase A Isolation?
- SI (1# in Lower Ctmnt)
- Manual
- If manually actuated, Causes CVI
What causes a Cntmt Phase B Isolation?
- 2.8# in Lower Ctmnt
- Manual
- If manually actuated, Causes CVI
What does TS 3.6.2 A (Airlock) State?
1.One or more ctmnt air locks with one or more cmnt air lock doors inoperable
WITHIN 1 HR:
- Verify the Operable door is closed in the affected air lock
What does TS 3.6.1 A (Ctmnt) State?
- If Ctmnt becomes inop
WITHIN 1 hr - restore to operable
How many Refueling Canal Drains must be operable?
- 2 of 3
How are the Refueling Canal Drains sized?
- Sized to allow sufficient flow back to the recirculation sump and minimize steam bypassing the Ice Condenser
What does TS 3.6.3 B (Ctmnt Isolations) State?
- If 1 or more ctmnt penetrations/flowpaths are inop
WITHIN 1 HR: - Isolate flow path
