Q
What advice is there for contact lens users (8)
A
- With the exception of daily disposables all contact lenses need to be cleaned with contact lens solution
- It is important that the right solution is used on the right lenses
- Ointments and drops should not be used while wearing lens unless the product specifically advices
- Ingredients in eye products, in particular preservatives, can damage contact lens
- Anyone with repeated discomfort from contact lenses should go back to the optician that fitted them
- The containers of lens solutions clearly state which type of lens they are suitable for, so check with the customer before you sell them
- Contact lens wearers must be careful when using make-up, hairspray etc. around the eye area
- Do not allow water to come into contact with contact lenses/storage cases. They should be removed before swimming or showering to avoid contamination and infections.
