They have the obligation to be wise or careful in their buying - ‘caveat emptor’ or ‘let the buyer beware’ applies

Goods bought at auction,goods bought by tender and goods bought by private sale.
What are the 4 things that goods must be in relation to quality?
Goods must be of acceptable quality(do what they are meant to do, be safe, last well, no small faults, acceptable in look and finish), goods must do what was discussed with the supplier, goods must be the same description given or sample shown to you and you have the right to expect goods to be available to be repaired and spare parts available if needing fixing.
If goods are faulty what can be asked for?
A refund, a repair or a replacement.
If it is a minor fault who can decide from a refund, a repair or a replacement?
The producer.
If it is a major fault who can decide from a refund, a repair or a replacement?
The consumer.
What happens if the business you purchased the goods from fails?
You can go either to the manufacturer or the importer to have the goods repaired, replaced or refunded.
What must those providing services under the CGA do?
Serviced must be provided with reasonable care and skill.
Services must give you, or do ,what you asked.
Serviced must be completed in a reasonable time or by the agreed completion time or date you and the supplier set.
you do not need to pay more than a reasonable price where a price has not been agreed upon.
What are the remedies under CGA if services are not provided correctly?
Fix the job at no cost.
Get someone else to fix it or continue with the job and claim back the costs from the original supplier.
Cancel the contract for the service and refuse to pay for the work done or less than the agreed price, if already payed ask to have some money refunded.
