What happens if the business you purchased the goods from fails?
You can go to either the manufacturer or the importer to have the goods repaired, replaced or refunded
What must those providing services under the Consumer Guarantees Act do?
o Services must be provided with reasonable care and skill
o Services must give you, or do, what you asked
o Services must be completed in a reasonable time, or by the agreed completion time or date you and the supplier set
o You do not have to repay more than a reasonable price when a price has not been agreed upon
What are the remedies under the Consumer Guarantee Act if services are not provided correctly?
o Fix the job at no cost
o Get someone else to fix it or continue with the job and claim back the costs from the original supplier
o Cancel the contract for the service and refuse to pay for the work done or less than the agreed price or
o If already paid ask to have some money refunded
