- be wise and careful in their buying - ‘cavear emptor’ (let the buyer beware)

A producer is obligated to :
- supply the product bought
- act honestly and fairly
What does the term caveat emptor mean?
The term means the obligation for the buyer to be wise and careful in their buying - ‘let the buyer beware’.
What does the CGA cover?
The CGA covers goods and services?
What does the CGA not cover?
The CGA does not cover any goods bought at auction, goods bought by tender and goods bought at private sale.
What are the four things goods must be?
Goods must :
- Be of acceptable quality
- Do what was discussed with the supplier
- Be the same as the description given or sample shown to you
- Come with right to be able to be repaired and access to spare parts if it needs fixing
What does acceptable quality mean?
Acceptable quality means that goods must :
- Do what they are meant to do
- Be safe
- Last well
- Have no small faults
- Be acceptable in look and finish
If goods are faulty, what can you ask for?
Repair, replace or refund.
