What is RIDDOR?
RIDDOR is a piece of health and safety legislation that puts duties on employers, the self employed and the people in control of work premises to keep a report of reportable injuries, incidents with potential to cause harm and diagnosed cases of certain industrial disease
What does COSHH stand for
Control Of Substances Hazadous to Health regulations
What does COSHH ?
COSHH is a set of regulation’s to protect workers from ill health when working with specific substances. A breach of the COSHH regulations is a crime with unlimited fines
What are the control of Asbestos regulations?
-employers must take account to their workers and those who are around who could be affected by the work on asbestos
-use of asbestos is prohibited
-asbestos may be left in place if in good condition and labelled, the risk still needs to be managed and should be labelled indicating where asbestos may be present

What is PUWER?
These regulations place duties on people and organisations that have control over work equipment
-Equipment must;
-be suitable for its intended us
-be safe , maintained and regularly inspected
-used by only those who are trained to use the equipment and who re instructed

this ensures that all work at all height’s are risk assessed

this is put in place to reduce the risk to employees health from exposure to vibration cause by work equipment
exposure limit is 5.0m/s2 A(8) which must not be exceeded
what is the confined spaces regulations 1997?
this is the prevention of any workers on site working is a confined space due to the health and safety risks from collapse, drowning, low oxygen levels and exposure to natual gases
