What is the double jeopardy
Protect an accused person from being tried again on the similar charges and same facts following a valid acquittal.
What is the dual sovereignty ?
the principle that allows different sovereign entities, such as state and federal governments in the United States, to prosecute a person for the same conduct without violating the Double Jeopardy Clause of the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. {This means that a person can be tried for the same crime in both state and federal courts because they are considered separate sovereigns.}
