What is the first amendement?
Freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly and petition
What is the second amendment?
Right to bear arms (guns)
What is the third amendment?
Citizens do not have to house soilders?
What is the fourth amendment?
No unreadable search or arrest.
What is the fifth amendment?
No double jeopardy and no witness against yourself
What is the sixth amendment?
The right to a speedy and public trial
What is the seventh amendment?
The right to a jury trial in civil matters of $20 and over
What is the eighth amendment?
No excessive bail or cruel punishment
What is the ninth amendment?
People get rights not listed in the constitution
What is the tenth amendment?
Any rights not given to federal government are given to the states and people
What is the 13th amendment?
Abolish Slavery
What is the 14th amendment?
If you are born or naturalized in the U.S. then you are a citizen of the U.S. (essentially granting citizenship to all former slaves)
What is the 15th amendment?
You cannot prevent a person from voting because of race, color, or creed
What is the 18th amendment?
Prohibition (Drinking alcohol is illegal; this caused quite the chaos in the US).
What is the 19th amendment?
Women can vote
What is the 21st amendment?

What is the 22nd amendment?
Two term limit for president.
What is the 24th amendment?
Anti poll tax (voting is free)
What is the 26th amendment?
18 years old to vote (was 21 before this amendment)
How many states are needed to ratify (approve) an amendment?
3/4 of legislators
What is the amount of votes needed for Congress to propose an amendment?
2/3 or majority
