1st Amendment
Protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government.
2nd Amendment
Right to keep and bear arms.
3rd Amendment
No solider can forcibly live in a citizen’s home during peace time
4th Amendment
Protects from unreasonable search and seizures
5th Amendment
Protects against forced self-incrimination, guarantees all criminals a trial
6th Amendment
Guarantees the rights of criminal defendant, including the right to a lawyer and public jury trial.
7th Amendment
Extends the right to a jury trial to federal civil cases like car accidents and employment disputes
8th Amendment
Excessive bail cannot be required, or excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted

The federal government only has the powers delegated in the constitution

Made slavery illegal except as punishment for a crime
14th Amendment
All persons born in the U.S. are citizens and are guaranteed equal protection of the laws. Guaranteed citizenship.
15th Amendment
Made it illegal to deny a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen’s “race, and state color, or previous condition of servitude.”
19th Amendment
Made it illegal to deny the right to vote to any citizen based on their sex
