What is Shays Rebellion?

A

Revolutionary War vet, Daniel Shay, a farmer in MA, led armed mobs to demand relief from those in debt. The state militia was able to put the rebellion down, but showed that a stronger government was needed.

Where was the Constitutional Convention Held? Who Presided?

A

It was held in Philadelphia in 1787, and George Washington was president. 12 states were represented, Rhode Island wasn’t.

Ratification?

A

For the Constitution to go into effect, 9 of the 13 states needed to ratify it. All 13 states ratified it. Delaware was the first and Rhode Island was the last one.
