what is a conspiracy
a conspiracy is a secret operation carried out by a group of plotters who are working towards some end (normally immoral)
what are conspiracy theories
conspiracy theories are explanations for events around the world that involve a conspiracy
give 2 reasons conspiracy theories are appealing
they:
are simple and easy to be passed on
are more entertaining than the truth
everyone loves a villain
confirm and support the biases we already held
provide certainty in an uncertain world
what is a bias
favouring one thing over another

this might happen because people are mocked/proud of their beliefs

pick and choosing beliefs we think are true but can also discard beliefs easily if they no longer are true
