What is Traditional Conservatism?
The oldest version of conservatism. They believe that in order for society to work, there must be a form of hierarchy.
What is the concept of noblesse-oblige?
The concept that with privilege comes responsibility, and therefore the most fortunate should always consider the less, as they are unable to do so themselves.
Why is Traditional Conservatism constructed as it is?
It originated at a time when the franchise was minimal, and only the most wealthy in society could vote. With the extension of the franchise the development of One Nation came along.
What role did Benjamin Disraeli play in Traditional Conservatism?
Aided the development of the party, following the extension of the franchise under the Great Reform Act. He broadened appeal to the bourgeoise, something that still occurs today.
