- Primarily USB - It’s high speed and used for charging and data transfer

- 24 pins, can act as USB 2, 3, 3.1, 4. Can transmit other signals such as; HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt

Lightning
- Uses 8-pin digital signals
- Connects iPhone and iPad

What type of serial interface was used for connectivity prior to USB?
A
- DB-9
- Commonly used for RS-232 signals (was the industry standard since 1968)
- Might still find this but you will need to use a USB to DB-9 converter

What is NFC and how is it used?
A
- Near field communication
- Sends small amounts of data wireless in a small area
- Built into phone, used for things like; payments, transportation, data exchange
- Can be used as an identity card with short range encryption

What advantage does a docking station have over a port replicator?
A
- Docking stations have the ability to add desktop expansion cards where most port replicators do not
- Generally you connect to port replicators via USB
