Rules: 1) take off the - ть ending Я: add ю: работаЮ Ты: add ешь: работаЕШЬ Он: add ет: работаЕТ
где?
rule that we need to change the ending of the nouns answering the location.
- if we have an (а) at the end then it becomes (е)
- if we don’t have an (а) at the end then just add (е)
- before the location noun we always have to put the preposition В
шить
to live Rules: 1) keep only first two letters 2) add B 3) add conjugations я: add ву: шиву ты: add вёшь: шивёшь он: add вёт: шивёт
учиться
to go to school/ to study
Rules:
1) take off, (ить) but keep (ся) for the end
2) switch the middle for the conjugations
я: add (у)ся: учуся
ты: add (ишь)ся: учишься
он: add (ит)ся: учится
Nominative Case Nouns
- they answer ‘what’ and ‘who’
- they indicate
- the subject
- the predicate noun (aka a noun connected to the subject by means of linking verb)
In prepositional case, we use these 2 prepositions
В - in/at
На - in/on
- where something happens
- where something or someone is
when answering where?
the nouns go through a change:
- taking off the nominative case ending and putting an ‘e’ ( consonant (just add an ‘e’ & vowel change it)
школа»_space;> школе - but nouns with the letter ‘и’ before the ending take the ending ‘и ‘ instead
Россия»_space;> России - feminine nouns which end with ‘ь’ soft sign also take the ending ‘и’
Сибирь»_space;» сибири
spelling rule #1
the vowel ‘ы’ never comes after hushers and velars, after these letters always goes ‘и’
velars:
к, г, х
hushers:
ш, щ, ж, ч
spelling rule #2
an unstressed ‘o’ in grammatical ending is written as ‘e’ after hushers.
