The physical withdrawal of one part of a state from a previous political union
What is Irredentism?
The situation where state boundaries separate members of a nation into separate political jurisdictions and where members of the nation seek to shift state boundaries to allow members of the national group to share a common state

Ethnic (large groups of people who share ancestral, language, cultural, or religious ties and a common identity)
Religious (Core of a community’s value system)
Ideological (belief systems)
