What is conflict known as in?
Conflict essentially involves some form of competition, differences, or tension. It is important to keep in mind that conflict forms an inherent part of the interaction between parties in employment relations. That said, conflict is a process, which is dynamic, and it has to do with change.
It is usually associated with something negative, such as negative emotional qualities and behaviour, such as anger, threats, and lack of cooperation. It is the sensational aspects that are mostly covered by the mass media. It is thus quite a common perception that conflict is destructive and undesirable.
Conflict involves some form of competitions, difference or tension.
What is social conflict?
Social conflict exists in a relationship when parties believe that their aspirations cannot be achieved simultaneously, or perceive a divergence in their values, needs or interests and purposefully employ their power in an effort to eliminate, defeat, neutralise, or change each other to protect or further their interests in the interactions.
What are the causes of conflict?
Different values, attitudes, or perceptions
Different objectives or methods of achieving them
Differences in information or communication blockages
Lack of resources (scarcity)
Skewed distribution of resources (structural imbalances)
Personality differences
