bible always tells the truth and it always tells the truth concerning everything it talks about
why is inerrancy important?
we can only come to know God through special revelation and the most reliable source is the Scriptures
how do we know that the BIble is truthful?
- full inspiration 2. the character of god
what makes the scriptures authoritative? (2 main reasons)
- because all the words in the bible are God’s words
- its neccesary and sufficient for the salvation of mankind
what causes sin?
ignorance, error, inattention
what are the results of sin?
divine disfavor, guilt and punishment, death (physical, spiritual, and eternal)
why is it important that christ is god?
because only god can save and christ is savior
why is it important that Christ is human?
atoning death of jesus can truly avail for us
jesus can truly sympathize and intercede for us
jesus manifests the true nature of humanity
jesus can be our example
god is not totally transcendent
