What place does Confirmation have in the divine plan of salvation?

A

Confirmation is meant for all Christians, not just selected ones.
In the Latin rite, it is conferred once the candidate has reached the age of reason;
To receive this sacrament, a person needs previous instruction, a true intention and to be in the state of grace.

A

the anointing with Sacred Chrism/ which is done by the laying on of the hand of the minister who pronounces the sacramental words proper to the rite.

a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit like that of Pentecost. ( impresses on the soul an indelible character and produces a growth in the grace of Baptism. )
