Licenses
A Salesforce license, or license definition, defines what features and services are made available to an org. There are different license types in Salesforce
USER LICENSES: User licenses define the baseline of features available to a user. Each user must be assigned one license.
FEATURE LICENSES:Feature licenses grants access to additional features that are not included in a standard license, such as Marketing, Knowledge, or CRM content.
PERMISSION SET LICENSES: Permission set licenses gradually grant users access to features that are not included in their user licenses.
Storage
❖Data Storage is used by records
❖File storage is used by attachments, documents, Files, Content, Chatter.
Fiscal Year
❖Standard or custom fiscal years can be used
❖Standard fiscal year follows the 12 month structure
❖Custom fiscal years can use custom periods
Default Locale
The default locale controls how certain information are displayed in a Salesforce org. It is set by the System Administrator.
User Changing Display Language
Users can change their own display language:
My Settings > Personal > Language & Time Zone
Organization ID
The Salesforce Organization ID or ‘Org ID’ is a unique 15 character identifier that identifies each Salesforce organization
❖UNIQUEThe Org ID will be different across environments(e.g., Development, Test, and Production)
❖SUPPORT REQUIREMENTThe Org ID will need to be provided when requesting supportfrom Salesforce and other AppExchange vendors.

Salesforce API
API is an abbreviation for ‘Application Programming Interface’.
❖ACCESSIBILITY Salesforce API allows access to Salesforce programmatically, instead of using the user interface.
❖EXAMPLES Bulk data loading tools such as Data Loader, integration tools such as Informatica, or integrations with other systems.
❖LIMITS The number of API requests that can be made in a 24 hour period based on edition and number of user licenses.
❖AVAILABILITY It is available for Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, and Performance editions.
API usage can be monitored from the Company Information page.
Time Zone
Time and Date fields will display according to the time zone setting.
❖ORGANIZATION TIME ZONE The Organization Time Zone is set on the Company Information page and is used as the default for new users.
❖USER TIME ZONE Users can set their own Time Zone which will override the organization setting.

Currencies
Organizations can have a single currency or multiple currencies.
MULTI-CURRENCY
❖Multi-currency adds the ability to record amounts in different currencies on records.
❖It must be enabled on the Company Information page.
❖In multi-currency organizations, the corporate currency is defined.
SINGLE CURRENCY
❖Single currency organizations can set the organization-wide currency on the Company Information page using the Currency locale.
❖The currency symbol in amount fields will reflect the currency locale.
❖Single currency is the default.

Multi-Currency
Multi-currency allows users to utilize more than one currency within their Salesforce org
❖USER CURRENCY Users can set their individual currency in the Personal Information page. User currency can be used in reports, quotes, forecasts, and other records that use currency amounts.
❖EXCHANGE RATES The exchange rates between active currencies can be set on the Manage Currencies page.
❖DATED EXCHANGE RATES Dated exchange rates can be used by enabling Advanced Currency Management. It is used for tracking the exchange rate at the date opportunities close.
Multi-Currency in Reports
Reports support multiple currencies which are classified as either primary or secondary currency.
PRIMARY CURRENCY The primary currency reflects either the default corporate currency or the currency selected for the record.
SECONDARY CURRENCY The secondary currency reflects the personal default currency of the user running the report, or the currency specified in the report criteria.

Activate Multiple Currencies Option
Multiple currencies cannot be disabled after enabling the feature.
Business Hours and Holidays
Business hours determine the times when users are available to support customers and are the basis for the computation of support processes hours.
