It made Americans prepared to buy goods, try new ideas and invest in companies.
How did confidence link with other factors?
It was the one thing that ran through all other factors and was the reason businesses were able to become successful.
What was the state of mind and Americans aims?
Most Americans believed that they had the right to prosperity. For many it was a main aim in life to have nicer houses, a good job, plenty to eat and for their homes to be filled with new consumer goods.
What was the view of consumerism?
Consuming more and more was seen as part of being American. In the 1920s the idea of thrift from earlier decades, was replaced by the idea that spending money was a better quality.
Conclusion
Overall, confidence in the economic boom against Americans was very high, it ensured that they would be active participants in industries and in consumerism. Building a good consumer positive foundation which in turn led to the economic boom.
