It went in Stalin’s favour mainly, this was because Roosevelt wanted Russia’s help fighting with Japan

What was Truman’s stance and influence in the conference?
He intended to ‘get tough’ with Russia, he learned the first atomic bomb had been dropped and so he no longer needed Russia’s support

Set up the four ‘zones of occupation’

Recognise Polish National Union and hold elections
Russia allowed to take reparations from the Soviet zone

Truman refuses to let USSR occupy Japan once defeated
Opposition to Stalin’s demand that he set up pro-Soviet governments in Eastern Europe
