How can you play your part in preventing bribery in the construction industry?
- By being open and honest about what may be constituted as a bribe.
Can a gifr from a contractor be considered a bribe?
- Yes it can. It would depend on the circumstances and the gift in question.
Tell me about your companies gift policy
- Must submit anything accepted or given to a
contractor or client to the online gift register. - Limit of £250 as to what we can give and receive.
- We are never to accept cash, gift vouchers, valuable
items or frequent gifts.
What is the modern slavery act?
- It was introduced in 2015.
- It is an act of parliament designed to combat modern
slavery in the UK and consolidate demand for migrant
workers.
What are the CPD Requirements for members of the RICS?
- To complete 20 hours of CPD per calendar year. This must be made up of 10 hours of Formal CPD and 10 hours of Informal CPD.
When do you have to complete your CPD by?
- 31st December every year.
What is Formal CPD?
- Formal CPD is that which has a clear learning outcome from the session. e.g. a seminar or presentation.
What is informal CPD?
- Informal CPD is more about generally learning e.g. reading Modus.
