What are the conditions of the GI Tract?
Tonsilitis, Esophagitis, (GERD) Gastroesophogeal Reflux Disease, Gastritis, Peptic Ulcers, Hiatus Hernia, Malabsorption disorder, Chron’s, Ulceractive Colitis, Diverticulitis, Jaundice, Hepatic Failure.
What is Tonsillitis?
Inflammation of the Tonsils, typically has a rapid onset.
Symptoms:
Sore throat, fever, Enlargement of the tonsils, trouble swallowing and large Lymph nodes around the neck.
What is Esophagitis?
Inflammation of the Esophagus.
Symptoms:
Can be Asymptomatic or can cause Epitgastric and or substernal burring pain, especially when laying down or straining.
Can make swallowing difficult.
What would be the cause for Esophagitis?
Most common cause is reverse flow of acid from stomach back into the lower Esophagus. (GERD)
What is (GERD) Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease?
AKA Acid reflux, Stomach contents rise up into the esophagus.
Symptoms:
Taste of acid in back of mouth, Heartburn, bad breath, chest pain, wearing away of teeth and breathing problems.
What is Gastritis?
Inflammation of the lining of the Stomach.
May occur in short episode or may be for a long duration.
