Cranium
The bones that form the head. The skull.
Concussion
type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that occurs when the brain is shaken or moved rapidly in the skull.
Coup
the injury occurs under the site of impact.
Contrecoup
injury occurs on the side opposite the area that was hit.
2 signs of concussion
LOC (loss of consciousness) and fencing.
2 symptoms of concussion
headache and dizziness.
Photophobia
condition that causes the eyes to be more sensitive to light than normal.
Phonophobia
hypersensitivity to sound, can be a diagnosis for a migraine.
Tinnitus
ringing or buzzing in the ears.
LOC
loss of consciousness.
Amnesia
a partial or total loss of memory.
retrograde amnesia
when you can’t recall memories of the past.
anterograde amnesia
type of memory loss that occurs when you can’t form new memories.
