A

Tone colour is when you can listen to something and recognise the instrument it came from. It is different to pitch. Another word for it is timbre

Definition of dynamics

A

Dynamics is a key in a piece of music that tells you how to play a particular note. For example, loud is forte (f). Soft is piano (p). Dynamics can also be something like a crescendo (cresc) or a diminuendo (dim) (NOT decrescendo). Crescendo means to gradually getting louder. Diminuendo means gradually getting softer. And finally accents, staccatos and legatos. Accent means to emphasise a note and is presented in music like this ‘
