Point
A point shows position and has no size. It is marked with a capital letter to name.
Line
A line is a series of dots joined together. They extend into infinity both directions, as it has no end point.
Line segment
A line segment is a portion of a line. The distance between two points.
Ray
A ray has one end point and another point which extends into infinity. A ray is straight.
Vertical lines
Vertical lines run “upwards” and “downwards.”
Horizontal lines
Horizontal lines run from “left” to “right.”
Oblique lines
If lines are neither horizontal nor vertical then they are oblique.
Perpendicular lines
Perpendicular lines are lines that meet/cross at a 90 degree angle.
Parallel lines
Parallel lines are equidistant from each other at all corresponding points. They will never meet.
Angles
When two lines have a common vertex an angle is formed. The angle indicates the amount of turning around.
