Concave/ Converging Mirror Flashcards
1
Q
C=
A
Center of curvature: the center of the sphere whose surface has been used to make the mirror
2
Q
PA=
A
Principle of Axis: line through the center of curvature and mirror. It intersects the mirror at 90 degrees and is normal to the surface
3
Q
V=
A
Vertex: the point where the principle axis intersects the mirror
4
Q
F=
A
Focal point: the point light rays parallel to the principal axis converge when reflected off a concave mirror
5
Q
3 light ray rules
A
- A light ray shone parallel to PA reflects back through F
- A light ray that is shone through F will reflect back parallel to PA
- A light ray shone through C will reflect back through C
6
Q
All concave mirrors will have what SALT characteristic in common
A
The type which will always be Real
