What is a Hard Drive?
A hard drive is the hardware component that stores all of your digital content. Your documents, pictures, music, videos, programs, application preferences, and operating system represent digital content stored on a hard drive.
What is the CPU?
The computer’s central processing unit (CPU) is the portion of a computer that retrieves and executes instructions.
What is the Motherboard?
The motherboard is the backbone that ties the computer’s components together at one spot and allows them to talk to each other.
What is a laptop?
A small mobile computer which runs on a single main battery. The components are small.
What is a notebook?
A small lightweight, portable computer.
What is a MAC?
These computers are targeted at home. They are made by Apple.
What is a workstation computer?
A high-end desktop microcomputer designed for technical applications. They are used for displaying complex data.
What is a server computer?
A computer system that has been designed for running a specific server application (s)
What is a personal desktop computer?
A computer whose price, size and capabilities make it useful for individuals. Also made for use on a desk in an office or home.
What does internal mean?
Internal is a term used to describe a device that is installed in the computer.
What does external mean?
External devices are added to the computer system by plugging them into one of the ports on the back of the computer.
