What is Biometric measures?
The us of physical features such as fingerprints or facial recognition to authenticate users. Found in many mobile devices such as phones, tablets and laptops
What are password systems?
Very common method to help prevent unauthorised access to a system or network. Strong passwords should be used. Some systems ask for certain characters for a longer password. 2 step authentication is used for more secure login procedures
What is CAPTCHA?
A form of challenge-response test to determine if the user is human. This may involve a user to re-type text displayed as an image, or identifying a subset of images from a larger group
What are email confirmations?
New users to a website or service are sent a email asking them to verify their identity, or that they wish to proceed. Helps to confirm that an email is valid and alerts users to fraudulent use of their email.
What are automatic software updates?
The ability for software, especially operating systems and browsers, to install patches and other updates as soon as they become available
