ATMs are Automated Teller Machines in which we can withdraw money, check our balance, print mini statements, and deposit funds.

London by Barclays Bank in 1967 ad made by John Shepherd Barron.

advantages of ATM?
- PROVIDES QUICK SERVICES
- PROVIDES 24HR SERVICES WITHOUT ANY DISTURBANCE.
- CASH CAN BE WITHDRAWN AT ANY TIME WITHOUT ANY HELP OF THE BANK
- PROVIDES DETAILS OF CASH WITHDRAWAL AND ACCOUNT BALANCE.
DISADVANTAGES OF ATM?
- DIFFICULT TO PROVIDE ATM SERVICES IN REMOTE AREAS.
- DUE TO LEAKAGE OF PIN AND LOSS OF ATM CARS, MISUSE CAN TAKE PLACE.
- DUE TO THE LIMITS OF CASH AND THE NUMBER OF TRANSACTIONS, ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT CAN BE WITHDRAWN.
- ALTHOUGH NOMINAL, BANKS CAN CHARGE A FEE ON EVERY TRANSACTION AT THE ATM.
PHOTOCOPY ?
TO MAKE A PHOTOGRAPHIC COPY OF A DOCUMENT BY A PARTICULAR MACHINE CALLED PHOTOCOPY MACHINE.
PHOTOCOPY MACHINE
IT IS THE MACHINE WHICH IS USED TO MAKE A PHOTOGRAPHIC COPY OF A DOCUMENT. It works with the help of the light emitted by electricity within the machine.
advantages of photocopy machines.
- it can help us make 100 pages of duplicate copies in very little time at a cheap rate.
- the machine can scan and print selected pictures or texts.
- it is user-friendly bc the user can turn on the machines, just place the paper and push a button and both sides of the paper can be used to print.
- it is easy to use and does not require any technicians.
disadvantages of photocopy machine
- the machine is very costly.
- it can leak information easiy so, it is not very safe.
it creates noise pollution. - it consumes a lot of power.
scanner
an input device which captures images for a particular source, converts it into the digital format and transfers to the computer. types of scanner: handheld scanner, film scanner, flatbed scanner, etc
printer
A device through which we can get the hard copy of what we want. types of printer: impact printer and non-impact printer.
impact printer and its types and short description
a type of printer that works by direct contact of an ink ribbon with paper. Cheap in price and used for low-quality printing in schools, banks, departmental stores. examples:
dot matrix printer- prints using a fixed number of pins which are typically arranged in several vertical columns.
Daisy wheel printer - produces output using the printer head composed of letters, numbers and symbols.
line printer- prints the entire line at a time.

Forms characters and images without striking on the ribbon or paper. Faster and quieter. Produce better quality output.
- inkjet printers: prints images and characters with the help of cartridges.
Laser printers: high-quality printer which prints texts and graphics with high resolutions.
