What is a computer case?
Am enclosure that holds all the wires and components of the computer inside it. All of the parts necessary for a computer to function are inside the case. The case keeps all these parts safe.
What is a motherboard?
Considered the “back-bone” of the computer. Connects all the parts of the computer together onto its circuited board.
What is a CPU?
Stands for central processing unit; (processing speed) Essentially the “brains” of the computer; The CPU selects instructions, processes the instructions, performs various logical comparisons, and then stores it in the memory. Most computers have two or more CPU’s to help maximize processing power. Measured in GHZ
What is the power supply?
Brings electrical power to a computer via outlets from your home. A power supply ensures all parts of a pc work to maxmium capacity.
What is the hard drive?
Part of you computer that stores all the information. The hard drive capacity is measured in megabites. Set of disk platters inside the computer housing
What is RAM?
The memory of you computer. Used as instant memory and executes various instructions in you computer. For example, if you run many programs at once, you may need to upgrade your RAM because your computer is using more memory.
What is the Optical drive?
Uses light to read and write data It is the drive you use to burn CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.
What is the mouse?
Used for making selections. There are two buttons on a mouse. Most actions are performed using the left mouse button. Some mice have cords and some do not. It is an input device.
What is the keyboard
Used for entering data, generating commands. The keyboard layout is similar to a typewriter with additional keys for other functions. There is a number keypad to the right of the main alphabetical keypad.

What is the monitor?
An ouput device that The monitor is the visual component of the computer. It displays information to the user. This is a required part of the computer. This part requires electricity so it will have its own power cord to plug into an outlet.
What is the disc drive?
Device on computer that processes/ scans contents on a disc.
What is a floppy drive?
Not widely used nowadays, but it reads storage information from floppy discs, which store information.
