Local Area Network

Metropolitan Area Network
a computer network that connects computers in a metropolitan area. A metropolitan area can be a single city, multiple cities and towns, or any large area with multiple buildings
What is WLAN
wireless local area network. It’s a network that connects devices using radio waves instead of wired connections.
Disadvantages: security, limited range
Advantages: Cost savings, Flexibilty
WLAN use high frequency radio signal to communicate or lasers to comunicate between work stations

A bus network is a type of local area network (LAN) topology. It’s a simple, reliable, and passive network that’s commonly used in small to medium-sized LANs

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows devices to communicate with each other over short distances without wires.

data in half duplex can flow in one direction but only one way at a time

Data in full duplex can be both sent and received at the same time
