It is a productivity program from the Microsoft Office that is used for creating documents like letters, reports and many more.
MS WORD
What do you call the part of MS Word that It displays the name of the program and the file name.
Title bar
What do you call the part of MS Word found below the Title bar. It contains all the commands that we need to perform the tasks in MS Word 2013.
Ribbon
It is a vertical line that serves as a guide to the user as to where to enter the text.
Cursor
It contains all the commonly used commands.
Quick Access Toolbar
This is the working area where text and pictures are placed.
Document Window
It is found at the bottom of the window. This shows information such as the current page and total number of pages of a document.
Status bar
These are used to move a document up, and down, or left to right.
Scroll bars
It helps you change document settings like font size, adding bullets, adjusting styles and many other common features.
Home Ribbon
It is commonly used to add
tables, pictures, clip art, shapes, page number, etc.
Insert Ribbon
It has a unique set of features that allows the user to quickly change the format, look, and color scheme of their document.
Design Ribbon
This tab allows you to control the look and feel of your document, i.e. you can change the page size, margins, line spacing, indentation, documentation orientation, etc.
Page Layout Ribbon
It allows you to enter document sources, citations, bibliography commands, etc. It also offers commands to create a table of contents, an index, table of contents and table of authorities.
References Ribbon
It allows you merge emails, writing and inserting different fields, preview results and convert a file into a PDF format.
Mailings Ribbon
This tab offers you some important commands to modify your document. It helps you proofread your content, to add or remove comments, track changes, etc.
Review Ribbon
This tab allows you to switch between Single Page and Two Page views. It also enables you to control various layout tools like boundaries, guides, rulers. Its primary purpose is to offers you different ways to view your document.
View Ribbon
It is used to give emphasis to text.
Font Styles
It is a text effect that darkened the text to help emphasize a remark or comment.
BOLD
It is a style of font that slants the letters evenly to the right.
Italic
It is a section of text in a document where the words have a line running beneath them.
Underline
It is a typographical presentation of words with a horizontal line through their center, resulting in text .
Strikethrough
It makes the text more interesting.
Text effects
Alignment is how text flows in relation to the rest of the page . There are four main alignments: left, right, center, and justified.
Text Alignment
It aligns the text towards the left margin.
Align Text Left
It aligns the text towards the right margin.
Align Text Right
It brings the text at the centre.
Center
It aligns the text to both left and right margins.
Justify
These are flexible tools that you can use in your document. It can be used like a text box where you can add your text.
Shapes
How to insert Shapes in MS Word?
- Select the Insert Tab
- Go to Illustration group, then select Shapes
- Select a shape, then go to your document.
- Select your document and drag your mouse.
- Select the shape and change its size.
