What is the purpose of an air receiver?
It cools and stores the air until needed

What could be the cause of excessive noise and vibration on a compressor?
Faulty fly wheel, bearings
What is a reverse in flow on a compressor called?
It is called Surge
What would a compressor set up look like?
It would have a Filter, Compressor, After Cooler, Water Trap, and then a Receiver
How is heat generated when compressing air?
Friction of the molecules are moving and creating heat
Applying heat to a trap volume will have what effect of the pressure of that gas?
The pressure will increase
If a compressor has an outlet of 150 psi what is the inlet pressure?
It is always 14.7 atmosphere pressure (compressor ratios are also alway X by 14.7)
What compressor use must use timing gears in order to drive it?
Dry screw compressors need to have timing gears so that the rotors do not come into contact with each other
Which compressor is used to change velocity into pressure?
A centrifugual compressor like centrifugal pumps change velocity to pressure
