“Rode for a long time” meaning they were riding in the car to the campsite for a long time.
How was the word bank used in our story?
Not like a bank where you get money from, but a bank of a river. This is where they tried to catch fish.
How was the word stakes used in our story?
Not like the steaks that you eat, but stakes that will hold in a tent to make it sturdy.
How was the word pitch used in our story?
Amelia Bedelia thought her uncle meant she should pitch the tent away by throwing it and leaving where it laid. But her uncle meant that they would put up the tent to be able to sleep in it later.
How was the word catch used in our story?
Amelia thought she had to jump into the water and catch the fish with her bare hands, but her uncle meant that they were going to catch the fish so it wouldn’t get away by using a fishing pole.
