Contain very few atoms
Made by combining different numbers of the same amount of elements, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon

Atoms ate bonded very tightly to eachother so they are very hard solids at room temperature

A mixture is a mixture of elements and compounds whereas a compound is just atoms
