is another word for writing — the act of writing or the piece of writing that results. It also refers to what something is made of.
Composition
This element involves in focusing on a clear, manageable idea, argument or the thesis around which to organize your material
Central Idea
It involves keeping the reader oriented to the central and subordinate ideas
Organization
Explanations, explanations, statistics and quotations makes the ideas and information presented meaningful and memorable for the reader
Supporting Material
Language is clear, specific, accurate and appropriate to the audience
Expression, Word Choice and Point of View
This element of good writing only counts when it’s wrong
Spelling, Grammar and Puctuation
Made up of two or more subjects that are connected by the conjunction: AND, OR, NOR
Compound subject
Rules of Compound Subject
A. Subjects joined by the conjunction “AND” generally take a plural verb
B. Subjects joined by “AND” take a singular verb if they refer to a singular subject/ function as a unit
C. Singular subjects that are joined by “OR” or ”NOR” take a singular verb
D. Plural subjects joined by “OR” or ”NOR” take a plural verb
E. When a plural subject and singular subject are joined by “OR” or ”NOR”, the verb agrees with the subject nearer the verb
