baroque- instrumental concerto became a staple, vocal and choral music still reigned supreme, Named after the popular ornate architectural style of the time, dark and dreary
classical- tuneful and elegant, clean, uncluttered style they thought reminiscent of Classical Greece, included masterful symphonies, sonatas, and string quartets
contrast- Baroque has a faster rhythm compared to classical.
compare- similiar types of ensembles such as operas orchestras and string quartets and solists.
4 fact about each of the composers
Bach and Handel were both blinded by the same surgeon, Chevalier John Taylor.
Mozart’s mother died in France when he was young. Bach had 20 kids. Beethoven’s father forced him into music hopping that the boy would prove to be another prodigy like Mozart. Hadyn was homeless and poor but survived by playing the harpsichord
