Is from a family of musicians; her mother is from a Henson family of Guagua while his father taught him solfeggio and banduria at the age of five. He wrote his first compositions at the age of 8 and when he turned 15, he taught in the barrio schools of San Ildelfonso and San Miguel, Bulacan. He is known for redefining KUNDIMAN and brought the genre to art- song status. He died in 1934 leaving a collection of more than 40 works.
Nicanor Abelardo
is a soldier, composer, conductor and an educator. His father was a band leader during the Spanish regime making him expose to the field of music. He led the Philippine Constabulary for sixteen years transforming them into the one of the finest military bands in the world. He also did research along with Francisca Reyes- Aquino on the Philippine folk song and dances and wrote song for solo instruments based on the folk music of ethnic groups.

Popularly known as “MR. C”, Raymundo Cipriano Pujante Cayabyab is a conductor, composer, arranger, pianist, singer and mentor to many artist today. His works vary form specially made full- length ballets, theater musicals, choral and orchestral pieces up to popular compositions. His compositions often praised for their poetic, easy to grasp lyrics that mirror the plight of the common people.

grew in a musical family and his father Juan Molina founded the Molina Orchestra. His first formal music lessons in violin and solfeggio were taught by one of the members of Molina Orchestra named Celestino de Vera. Antonio was a composer, conductor pedagogue and music administrator. He is known as the “Claude Debussy of the Philippines” due to his use of impressionism in his works.

was an ethnomusicologist specializing in Indonesian and Filipino Music, educator, composer, conductor and pianist. He explored Filipino musicality and dedicated his life to uphold traditional music. His works can be describes as colored and cloud compositions, utilizing the tones of non- western instruments to create blocks of sound. Dr. Maceda intensively study the nature of ethnic Philippine music and it brought him to many places around the world.

was a multi- awarded composer of numerous popular Filipino Classics who had no formal training in music. He was paid 1.5 million by President Marcos for composing “Ako ay Pilipino”. Canseco also won 6 FAMAS Awards for Best Movie Theme Song and an Artistic Achievement Award.
George Canseco
was known as the “Dean of Filipino movie composers and music directors”. Despite finishing a course not related to music, he paved his way to the industry of music.
