Step 1: Draw a Venn diagram of all the people who like maths and science.
Step 2: Write the ratios and total them both up and calculate how many students from each corrrect ratio likes maths or science.
Step 3: Takeaway the total no of students who like science or maths from the students who like Both.
Step 4: Add the final no together and takeaway from the total.
Step 5: Solve (Dislikes is the number of people outside of the circles).

A string of 50m long is pegged between the ground and the top of a flagpole. It just touches the head of Jess who is 5m away from the point where the string is held to the ground. If Jess is 1.5m tall find the height of the flagpole.

Step 2: Use Pythagorus thoerum to find the hypotenuse.
Step 3: Divide the total length by the hypotenuse length.
Step 4: This is the scale factor which you then use to find the height by multiplying Jesses height and the save factor.

Calculate the angle of elevation between the top of the shadow to the light?
