How would you complete a cardio exam
- Fundoscopy
- BP in both arms
- BP lying and standing
- 12 lead ECG
- CXR
- Femoral pulses
Completing a resp exam
- Sputum sample
- SPO2
- Peak flow
- Spirometry

- BP lying and standing
Abdo completion
ISHRUG (inguinal lymph nodes, stool sample, Hernias, PR exam, Urine sample and external genitalia exam)
GALS completion
Examine any joint of concern
Knee completion
Hip, ankle and full neurovascular assessment of the lower limb
Hip completion
Lumbar spine and knee (ipsilateral), femoral pulses and full neurovascular assessment of the lower limb
Shoulder completion
Examine C-spine, ipsilateral elbow and do a full neurovascular assessment of the upper limb
Hands completion
Examine ipsilateral elbow and do a full neurovascular assessment of the upper limb
spine completion (probs not required)
Any lower back pain would warrant a PR, elbow and hip exam
To complete cranial nerves
- Corneal reflex
- fundoscopy
- Jaw jerk?
- Gag reflex
to complete upper limb neuro
- Pin prick (pain)
- Temperature
- Cranial nerves
- Look at any imaging
To complete lower limb neuro
- Pin prick (pain)
- Temperature
- Cranial nerves
- Imaging if relevant
To complete cerebellar
- Cranial nerves
- upper and lower limb neuro
- Look at any relevant imaging (CT head)
To complete thyroid
- Fundoscopy
- Blood pressure
- Free T3, T4 TSH
- ECG
To complete diabetic foot
- Fundoscopy (looking for diabetic eye)
- Blood pressure
- HBA1C
- Pain (pin prick)
- ABPI
- Advice on appropriate foot care
