Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:13-18
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Matthew 17:19-21
But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Isaiah 65:11-24
But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them.
In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery,
And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace.
For though they be punished in the sight of men, yet is their hope full of immortality.
And having been a little chastised, they shall be greatly rewarded: for God proved them, and found them worthy for himself.
As gold in the furnace hath he tried them, and received them as a burnt offering.
Wisdom of Solomon 3:1-6
Ecclesiasticus 1:8 There is one wise and greatly to be feared, the Lord sitting upon his throne.
Ecclesiasticus 1:9 He created her, and saw her, and numbered her, and poured her out upon all his works.
Ecclesiasticus 1:10 She is with all flesh according to his gift, and he hath given her to them that love him.
Ecclesiasticus 1:11 The fear of the Lord is honour, and glory, and gladness, and a crown of rejoicing.
Ecclesiasticus 1:12 The fear of the Lord maketh a merry heart, and giveth joy, and gladness, and a long life.
Ecclesiasticus 1:13 Whoso feareth the Lord, it shall go well with him at the last, and he shall find favour in the day of his death.
Ecclesiasticus 1:14 To fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and it was created with the faithful in the womb.
Ecclesiasticus 1:15 She hath built an everlasting foundation with men, and she shall continue with their seed.
Ecclesiasticus 1:16 To fear the Lord is fulness of wisdom, and filleth men with her fruits.
Ecclesiasticus 1:17 She filleth all their house with things desirable, and the garners with her increase.
Ecclesiasticus 1:18 The fear of the Lord is a crown of wisdom, making peace and perfect health to flourish; both which are the gifts of God: and it enlargeth their rejoicing that love him.
Ecclesiasticus 1:19 Wisdom raineth down skill and knowledge of understanding standing, and exalteth them to honour that hold her fast.
Ecclesiasticus 1:20 The root of wisdom is to fear the Lord, and the branches thereof are long life.
Ecclesiasticus 1:21 The fear of the Lord driveth away sins: and where it is present, it turneth away wrath.
Sirach 1:8-21
Look at the generations of old, and see; did ever any trust in the Lord, and was confounded? or did any abide in his fear, and was forsaken? or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him?
For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering, and very pitiful, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in time of affliction.
