Q

Brave New World

A

although desire and pleasure have no place in the puritanical Gilead, there is a sexual underground known as Jezebel’s and Offred and Nick engage in a passionate affair

whereas in Huxley’s Brave New World, society is characterised by boundless consumption and officially endorsed promiscuity because sex and procreation have been separated

this is the opposite of Gilead
