Why did Jews come to Britain
Jews have been here for hundreds of years. In the 1930s and 40s they cave to escape persecution in East Europe
Why did Africans, Asians and Carribbeans come to Britain
They already belonged to Britain as Britain had taken over their countries. They came here to provide manual and semi skilled work in the 1950s as there was a shortage in Britain
Why did Polish people came to Britain
They came to escape Nazi Germany in the 1940s

Bring in a lot of money (immigrants contribute £5 billion to the economy)

New food e.g. Chinese
New skills and ideas in art, music, sport, dance and literature
